Privacy policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
This policy explains what information Tablr collects when you run a shop or order from one, why we need it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect only what we need to run your shop and your orders, and we never sell your information.
1. Who we are
Tablr is run by Tablr Technologies, Fetu St, Sakaman, Accra, Ghana. We handle personal information under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
2. Information from sellers
When you create and run a shop, we collect:
- Your phone number, to sign you in with a code sent by SMS. We don't use passwords.
- Your shop details: the shop name and link, what you sell, your WhatsApp number, Instagram name, town or area, about text, returns promise, your first name and story if you add them, and your logo, cover and other photos.
- Your products and orders: names, prices, photos, stock, and the orders your customers place.
- Where you get paid, on paid plans: your Mobile Money number, the network, and the name on the account, which we check with our payment partner. We do not ask for ID cards or ID numbers.
- Your plan and the payments you make for it.
- Messages you send us when you ask for help.
3. Information from customers
When you order from a shop on Tablr, we collect what the shop needs to get your order to you:
- your name and phone number;
- your delivery area, address and any note you add, or that you will pick up;
- what you ordered and how you are paying.
If you pay online, your card or Mobile Money details go to our payment partner, Paystack. Tablr does not see or store your full card number.
You don't need an account to order.
4. What we collect automatically
- Shop visits: we count how many times each shop is opened each day and whether the visit came from WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or elsewhere. We don't use cookies for this and we don't record who visited.
- Technical records: our servers record things like your IP address, browser and the time of each request. We use these to keep Tablr secure, stop abuse such as too many sign-in attempts, and fix problems.
- Cookies: the seller dashboard uses one cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers small settings, such as whether you've seen the dashboard tour. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. How we use it
- to run your shop and show it to customers;
- to pass orders to sellers and help them deliver;
- to take online payments and keep them safe until delivery (buyer protection), and to look into problems with an order;
- to sign you in, keep accounts secure and prevent fraud;
- to bill for paid plans and send reminders;
- to answer your questions and tell you about important changes;
- to understand how Tablr is used so we can improve it, using counts rather than individual people where we can.
We use your information because we need it to provide the service you asked for, because the law requires it, or for our legitimate interest in keeping Tablr safe and working. We'll ask for your permission before using it for anything else, such as marketing messages.
7. Sellers and their customers' details
Customers' details belong to the relationship between the customer and the seller. Tablr keeps them for the seller and handles them only as described here. Sellers agree to use their customers' details only to handle orders and talk to customers about them, unless a customer agrees to more, and to keep the details safe.
8. How long we keep it
- We keep a seller's account and shop while it is open. When a shop is closed, we delete or anonymise its information within 90 days, except what we must keep by law.
- Orders and payment records are kept as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
- When a seller removes a photo, we delete it from our storage.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Technical records are kept for a short time, then deleted.
9. Keeping it safe
Information travels encrypted between your phone and Tablr. Each shop's information is kept apart from every other shop's in our database, and only people who need it to run Tablr can reach it. Sign-ins are protected by one-time codes and limits on attempts. No system is perfectly safe, so if something goes wrong that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
10. Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- stop using it for a purpose you object to, including marketing.
Sellers can see and change most of their information in the dashboard. Customers can ask the seller, or us. To ask us, use the contact details below; we may need to check it's you first. If you're not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when how we handle information changes. If a change matters, we tell sellers in the dashboard or by SMS before it takes effect, and change the date at the top.
